XENOBIOTICS: The Newest Threat to Water Quality?
Pharmaceuticals. Household chemicals. Caffeine. These products
and hundreds of others used daily in American homes - known
as xenobiotics - may constitute the latest water quality concern.
While these products are familiar to us as consumers, little
is known about why they are being detected in our waterways,
what the health risks might be, and what can be done to prevent
them entering drinking water sources. This workshop is designed
to educate ACWA members and other interested parties on the
latest information pertaining to the xenobiotics phenomenon.
